FIGHT MS "Heroes Live Forever" Makes A Difference The 2008 bike MS ride was a huge success. I am so proud of Team "Heroes Live Forever." Together, we raised $39,500 in support of research and advocacy for those afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis during the 2008 MS Bike Ride.
"Heroes Live Forever" is a group of friends, family and co-workers that have made a committment to end Multiple Sclerosis
Jeff Kerr, our Team Captain, was diagnosed with MS in February of 2006 at the age of 35. Jeff is a Lieutenant with the York County, VA Sheriff's Office and is married with three beautiful daughters, Jeff has been cycling for several years and has participated in other chartible bike rides, but never the MS Bike Ride. Jeff decided he wanted to make a difference and fight this dreadful disease. Jeff formed a cycling team, Heroes Live Forever, and particpated in the 2006 MS 150. Heroes Live Forever consisted of 7 members and they raised $3,000. Jeff considered this a huge success, but just the beginning. Jeff and his wife and Co-Captain, Shannon, worked diligently at growing their team. The 2007 Heroes Live Forever Cycling Team consisted of 31 members and they raised $23,475 receiving the National MS Society's coveted Platinum Award. In 2008, Heroes Live Forever grew to 55 members and raised $39,500.
Jeff has a renewed passion for this event. Kaitie, his oldest daughter, will me 19 in March and she is in the final stages of an Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.
